Mass rallies across Turkey mark 2016 failed coup

Tens of thousands of people have rallied in Ankara and Istanbul, as Turkey marks the first anniversary of a failed coup.

In July 2016, a breakaway faction of the military attempted to overthrow the government and President Recep Tayyip Erdogan using tanks, warplanes and helicopters.

More than 50,000 people linked to the coup attempt have been arrested so far.

Al Jazeera’s Sinem Koseoglu reports from Ankara.

Little do they know the military in Turkey considered part of their mission to interfere once the government gave sings of turning totalitarian and away from secularism. The people have been slowly conditioned to believe that Erduan is for democracy. We are witnessing yet another dictator on the making. All a leader with nefarious intentions has to do to get the ball rolling is say "I will keep you safe if you give me your support". Sad

    PS
    Does this sound familiar?

It would seem that Erdogan's coup has succeeded rather well: why all this talk of 'failed coup attempt' I don't know. That were, after all, the outcome Erdogan intended for it when he gave the go-ahead to scare the pants off the body politic in Turkey, even making pretence that he were divinely appointed and approved (regardless of those HDP election results which gave cause for him to call a snap re-election and declare a spurious war in the SE region, far from Istanbul, against the Kurds there) and thus 'narrowly escaped harm, Allah be praised'. He has pro-Democracy demonstrations bombed in the name of ISIS, attacks Kurds as if they were ISIS, threatens to release a flood of Syrian refugees over the Hellespont and into Europe, accuses the Bundesrepublik of fascist behavior while arresting tens of thousands and throwing hundreds of thousands into penury, and locks up journalists who would report the truth of the situation inside Turkish borders, and now pretends to be fully supported of the Turkish people, days after hundreds of thousands turned out against him, in the name of Democracy, Allah be praised, a 50% majority is as if a divine mandate, and people think his 'coup attempt' was a failure? For whom one might ask.

The country of Turkey and its people really have nothing to "commemorate"; least of all, the failed and half-hearted coup attempt from last year (which possibly may have even been, at least in part, a false flag operation destined to fail orchestrated by strategic forces inside its own government).
The reality is that Turkish citizens haven't lived in a free and democratic society for many years and examples of this over the last two decades are too numerous to mention here.
As for their "president", Recep Tayyip Erdogan, he is nothing more than a power-mongering totalitarian dictator, who has arranged the various chess pieces on the board accordingly.
Turkey has also been back-pedaling steadily toward more theocratic cultural leanings, as more and more of their female "supporters" are seen obediently wearing head-scarves in public at the behest of Erdogan and his wife.
The religious component is simply another mechanism of control, as are the arbitrary mass arrests and firings, and as is the continuous "state of emergency" that remains in effect for as long as Erdogan sees fit (no different than how Mubarak used it to his advantage in Egypt from 1981 onward).
July 15th being declared a "national holiday" in Turkey is nationalist propaganda that is of such overt hubris, it beckons nausea.
It should really be called what it is, a national "day of disgrace"…

But this was …speechless 'the faith smashed the tanks', this refring to their own tanks, in a country which tells the euglena people that they wanna be an empire in the 21st century, or at least a power or something 😂😂😂😂😂😂, and loads of euglenas march on the street and applaud. 'Urraaa, uraaaa!'. These Westerners even tell us that the euglenas are part of NATO, btw 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂. Is like I'm in Matrix or something.
